"The View" on The Debate

If you are someone who watches The View regularly, then you would know that anything of big importance that happens will be discussed. So of course, they discussed the Presidential Debate on their show today.

Click here to watch what they had to say.

Here's what I think....
Honestly, I am not a big fan of this year, or any year's Presidential Debates, or even politics in general. Although I would like to see a change and would love seeing Obama in the White House, I am just ready for this election to be over with. So, I don't really have anything to say about who won or did the best during the debate. Really, I just blogged about it because other people are very interested in this sort of thing.

But that's just my opinion...what do you think?

Talented Twins & Triplets

I was watching the Maury Show a couple days ago and the show featured twins and triplets whom were showing off their talents. Some of the talents were not new to national television. The Brittenaum Twins auditioned for American Idol last year (I think....or maybe the year before last) and Sean & John competed at and won more than once at the Apollo Theater. Overall, the talents (5 in total) were great, but to me, one talent stood out the most.

Click HERE to check out the talents and pick which one is your favorite!

Here's what I think....
I pretty much applaud anyone who can sing and sound great while doing it. I pride myself in being a very good singer, so it's easy for me to judge someone on their singing. However, out of the singers that showed off their talent, none of them did a superb job to me. 2TooCute was indeed too, too cute, but not cute enough to be considered superbly talented (although at that age, many may think they are). The tap dancers caught my heart since I saw them on Apollo, and I honestly think that tap dancing is a wonderful talent. If the winner was left solely up to me, I'd pick Sean & John.

But that's just my opinion...what do you think??

The N-Word Debate

In the words of Dr. Phil...
"Can the N-word be used as a term of endearment when it has such a poisonous root?"

Also expressing their opinions on this very controversial issue this morning on the Dr. Phil Show was actor Hill Harper, Civil Rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton, and comedians Sheryl Underwood and Paul Mooney. The debate got very heated when different races from the audience brought up the issue of racism to the debate against the panel made of all African Americans...

Here's what I think....
Black, white, purple, green.... I have a name. It's Samone. I don't care if we homies, cool with each other, or of the same race, DON'T CALL ME THE N-WORD! I don't care how, when, and where you use it with or referring to other people, but don't use it when referring to me.

As a black person, I find it very RIDICULOUS that we use that word so freely but get so offended when other races use it against us! I was always taught that if you can comfortably consider yourself to be a certain thing, someone else calling you that shouldn't be a problem to you.

But frankly, if a word can be used offensively, it shouldn't be used at all. If EVERYONE of EVERY RACE can't use a word safely, it shouldn't be used at all. That philosophy of mine goes for every and any word, and for those reasons, I don't use the n-word.

But that's just my opinion. What do you think??

Fat-Sploitation

Yesterday, I was watching the Tyra Banks Show and the topic was "Fat-Sploitation". The show was very interesting because I was shocked to see that there were so many plus-sized (very plus-sized) women who have a lot of confidence in themselves. Some model lingerie, some make sexy videos for the web. It felt great watching the show, but anger started to build as more and more smaller-sized women stood up to express their non-supportive opinions.

Here are my thoughts...
No thin, skinny, whatever you want to consider them, person is going to tell me I look disgusting because I'm not a size 2 or 4. Who cares? Yeah, overweight people may be unhealthy, but who's to say that all skinny people are healthy? And frankly, the insistance on being thin makes people diet in unhealthy way, create dangerous eating disorders, and crazy nonsense like that. I mean, I'm not super plus-sized like the women on the show, but I'm not thin either. I mean, I'm content with being a size 18 (even though size 14's are easier to find and cheaper). No, I don't go around exploiting my body in any way, shape, or form...I don't think anyone, any size should. But if you have that much confidence in yourself to not care what others say and you help in giving full-figured women, like me, the confidence to love yourself despite what society says, then go ahead girl!

But that's just my opinion....what do you think?
